UDC Terms and Information (continued)
Associate Member
Chapters may bestow this honor upon women over age 16 who, although ineligible for membership, wish to be associated with the UDC.

Insignia
This is the term for the approved pins and ribbons that are worn by UDC members to signify membership in the UDC, honor our ancestors, and show the offices we hold or have held. Sashes are worn by General Officers, Division Presidents, ex Presidents General, and Honorary Presidents of General to signify their position. Within the Division, sashes are worn by ex Division Presidents and Honorary Division Presidents.

Children of the Confederacy
The CofC, as it is usually called, is an organization sponsored by the UDC for girls and boys from birth through the Annual General CofC Convention after a member’s 18th birthday. CofC objectives are the same as the UDC. The CofC has its own Chapters, Divisions, and General Organization; meetings and Division and General Conventions; elected officers; fundraising projects; and endowed scholarships.
